We’ve worked with Alberta Agriculture and Forestry on a few projects.
When the Explore Local team created a project to profile small to medium sized producers in Alberta, we stepped up to the plate. This massive project crisscrossed crossed in province in over 20 counties, featuring 35 producers who operated direct to consumer food and agricultural businesses. From bread baking to garlic growing, from cheese making to pastured poultry, from wild boars to microgreens, we tried to encompass the vastness of Alberta’s rich food and agriculture industry. Each profile included narrative photography telling the story of the producer’s business as well as a long form interview that expounded upon their values and unique production features.
Given our experience in the direct to consumer agriculture world, we were able to work again with Alberta Agriculture and Forestry on a research study that explored the role of CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) as a market channel for producers across the province in 2020.
